Your Itinerary

Departure from your chosen pick up point for our journey to Alnwick Garden. Here you will discover acres of fascinating plants, water sculptures and the world's largest wooden tree house! It’s a garden for gardeners, with a design that looks to the future. From the country’s largest collection of European plants in the Ornamental Garden to the very unusual plants found in the Poison Garden, there’s an enormous variety of plants and trees. Many interesting planting styles can be seen during a walk around the landscape, and the gardeners are always happy to chat and answer questions.

It’s also a garden for families, with lots of chances to get wet and play. Collect water in the mini tractors, paddle in the rills, see the many ways water can move in the Serpent Garden and dodge the Grand Cascade’s jets. Play hide and seek in the Bamboo Labyrinth, and bounce on The Treehouse’s wobbly rope bridges.

Join up with the coach during the late afternoon and transfer to your hotel where overnight accommodation is reserved on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

On day 2, after breakfast, we make our way to Holy Island and Lindisfarne. This is known as ‘the Jewel of the Northumberland Coast’ and is only accessible across a causeway. There are extensive dune lands, sand and mud flats and a Heritage Centre. The Benedictine Priory was destroyed by Henry VIII. Please take note - our length of stay on the Island is dependent on tide times. After our visit we commence our journey home arriving back later on.
