    Days 3-6

At your leisure to relax and enjoy your stay.

During your visit the following excursions are included:

The ‘Sound of Music’ city of Salzburg and a visit to Mondsee. An excursion to Salzburg – one of Europe’s most enchanting cities. It is famous as the birthplace of Mozart and also the setting for the ‘Sound of Music’. A specialist guide will accompany us and show us around many of the features which form the backdrop to the famous film. We will also visit Mondsee – where the church used in the ‘wedding scene’ in the ‘Sound of Music’ is located.

    Lakes Tour, Gmunden & Halstatt

Lakes tour taking in Gmunden and the picturepostcard village of Halstatt - Austria’s oldest village, who’s culture dates back to the 8th century B.C. Quite possibly the most photographed Austrian village.

St. Gilgen, St. Wolfgang, & Schafberg Cog Railway

St. Gilgen - a village that was the source of inspiration for Mozart. From here we have included a boat trip to St Wolfgang – well known for its pretty 15th century church and famous White Horse Inn. The ancient centre is a maze of cobbled streets lined with beautiful frescoed houses, shops and cafes. To round things off we have included a train journey on the Schafberg Cog Railway for some spectacular photograph opportunities.
