We start with a local departure by ‘First Class’ coach for our journey to the continent and an overnight stopover in France.
On day 2 continue to our hotel, stopping en route in the spa town of Baden-Baden. Accommodation has been reserved for 7 nights at the Orange Hotel in Neu Ulm. Hotel features include a restaurant and bar. All rooms are well appointed with flat screen TV. As a special extra the hotel will provide 7 packed lunches.
On day 3 – Ulm. We spend a half day in Ulm known for its Gothic minster which has the world’s highest church steeple and is known as the birthplace of Albert Einstein.
Day 4 – Germany’s Romantic Road. Enjoy a tour of the Romantic Road – one of Germany’s oldest tourist routes. We combine sweeping views with visits to the Mediaeval towns of Rothenburg and Dinkelsbuhl.
Day 5 is at leisure.
Day 6 – Munich. Today we travel to Munich – the capital of Bavaria. It is famous for its architecture including the Frauenkirche – its largest church with 2 dome topped Gothic towers.
Day 7 – optional excursion to Nuremberg – including entrance to Nazi Rally Grounds. Price:£25.95 per person. Today you can join our optional excursion to the beautiful city of Nuremberg. Despite severe damage in WWII many of the city’s Mediaeval buildings have been restored to their former glory. Our visit includes entrance to the former Nazi Rally Grounds where Nazi party rallies were held between 1933 and 1938.
Day 8 – Lindau and Lake Constance. Travel to Lindau – a town set amongst a stunning backdrop of mountains. Explore the old town’s historic buildings and pretty alleyways, stroll along the lakeside promenade or head to the bustling harbour.
Day 9 – travel to our overnight hotel in Germany, stopping en route in the university city of Heidelberg.
Day 10 - continue our journey home, arriving back later on.
