We start with a local departure and make our way north. Accommodation has been reserved for 4 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Auckland Hotel. This is located on the beach front. All rooms are well appointed and there is a bar and restaurant.
During your stay we have included these great excursions:
- The Lake District National Park. We drive along the banks of Lake Ullswater and come to the Kirkstone Pass with its magnificent view of Lakeland. Continuing on we arrive in Bowness on Windermere - a popular tourist resort where it is possible to take an optional lake cruise.
- A visit to the lovely Cumbrian town of Kirby Lonsdale, before heading to Lancaster where there will be time to explore. This afternoon we take a cruise over the Lune Aqueduct - the largest in the country, affording stunning views across the city of Lancaster and the surrounding countryside.
- A half day visit to Bury Market - the largest in England - before we board the East Lancashire Steam Railway to Rawtenstall, hugging the Irwel Valley
