Your Hotel Accommodation:
We stay at the family run Nesbitt Arms Hotel which is set in the centre of the Heritage town of Ardara. Ardara is enveloped in the most beautiful mountain scenery, mountains and rivers and is only a 10 minute walk from the award-winning Narin beach, Maghera and many other majestic places. It is the home of tweed making and visitors can enjoy demonstrations daily. You can also savour the most cosy little bars with turf fires burning while traditional music plays in the background. The hotel itself features rooms all warmly furnished and a bar and restaurant.
Your Itinerary:
We start with a local departure for our sea crossing to Ireland. On arrival we make our way to our hotel.
During your stay we have included these great excursions:
- A tour taking in the rugged scenery. We call at the little touring centre of Dungloe – the principal town of the Rosses – recognised as one of Europe’s most beautiful coastline. We continue to the village of Kincasslagh, taking in views of the spectacular Derryveagh Mountains
- A visit to Donegal town – a renowned centre for tweed and knitwear. You may wish to take an optional boat trip around the harbour on the famous water bus. From this you can see the seal colony on Seal Island, the Blackstack Mountains and Donegal Bay with a full commentary. Details will be sent prior to departure. To round off the day we visit the world renowned Belleek Pottery to see how the most intricate and detailed porcelain is manufactured.
- A full day excursion to County Antrim. We pass the dramatic clifftop Dunluce Castle to visit the unique Giant’s Causeway. This is said to have been the work of the legendary Celtic giant – Finn McCool. Learn about the Causeway – often referred to as the ‘8th Wonder of the World’ – at the Visitor Centre. We also take time to visit Bushmills Irish Whisky for a fascinating guided tour
