We start with a local departure and travel south to Folkestone, where accommodation is reserved at the Grand Burstin Hotel, set on the harbourside. The hotel buzzes with activity. There is a cabaret room with large dancefloor and nightly live shows. Leisure club with an indoor swimming pool etc. (Some facilities chargeable).
You can relax in the hotel or join our included excursions:
- A journey via cross Channel ferry to the continent. We travel to Adinkerke and this is a great chance to buy your wines, spirits, Belgium chocolates etc. Please remember all items must be for personal consumption and Customs and Excise suggested limits must be strictly adhered to
- Rye – a visit to one of the best preserved mediaeval towns in England. This is home to the enchanting ‘cobbled mermaid’ street, the impressive Norman church of St Marys and the rich selection of specialist shops and a thriving fishing fleet
- Canterbury - a visit to England’s most famous mediaeval city. It features ancient buildings, shops, bars and restaurants retaining both an old world charm and a cosmopolitan vitality
Important Note: To travel to Belgium a full 10-year passport is required. Duty free goods are no longer available. Due to Government weight restrictions it is possible only to carry back one case of approx 24 small bottles of beer from Belgium per person. All items must be for personal consumption. Ferry crossing may be substituted with a tunnel crossing – no compensation payable in these circumstances.
