We start with a local departure on day 1 and make our way to historic York. There will be time to view the Roman, romantic and Mediaeval heritage with lots of attractions for visitors to enjoy. The streets are full of historic buildings, traditional shops and a number of museums and art galleries. Don’t miss the city walls, the Minster, the Jorvik Centre or, of course, the National Railway Museum. No admission charges are included.
Later on we take you to our hotel where rooms have been booked on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis for the night.
On day 2 you have a chance to get close to the fastest steam train of all time – the ‘Flying Scotsman’. After a 10 year project it has been restored to its former glory. Tickets have been booked for the 70 minute journey which departs from Oxenhope at approximately 14.00 hours on Monday 3rd April and from Haworth at approximately 10.00 hrs on Sunday 9th April.
