Day 1 - We start with a local departure for our journey north through the Borders to arrive at our hotel – the Onich and Lochside Gardens. This is set in a fantastic lochside location between Glen Coe and Fort William. All rooms are well appointed and features include a restaurant and bar.
Day 2 – Oban – after a leisurely breakfast we take you on a 40 mile loch side drive to Oban, with loch shore views all the way. Free time in Oban to explore ‘The Gateway to the Isles’ with its many shops, whisky distillery, museums and wonderful seafood restaurants
Day 3 – Inverness and Loch Ness – one of the most scenic road journeys in the UK takes you along the Great Glen to Fort Augustus at the had of Loch Ness. We stop at the Clansman Marina for a cruise out on to the Loch, stopping at Urquhart Castle, where many sightings of the Monster have been seen! Time free in the Highland capital, Inverness. Return along the eastern shoreline of the Loch with amazing views all the way
Day 4 - Jacobite Steam Train – a special day awaits. One leg on the steam train between Fort William and Mallaig and the 2nd leg by coach. The steam journey is arguably the most scenic railway journey in the UK if not Europe, passing Glenfinnan and over the 21 arched Viaduct as soon in the Harry Potter films. In Mallaig we have arranged a 1 hour local wildlife cruise out towards the Isles with possible sightings of whales, dolphins, sea eagles and more. The 2nd leg with your coach between Mallaig and Fort William stops off at various vantage points such as Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Monument and Loch Morar. The road journey is distinctly different to the train journey
Day 5 – commence our journey home arriving back later on.
