This enchanting tour combines the beautiful Eastern European capitals of Prague and Budapest with the elegant imperial city of Vienna. Discover magnificent architecture, fine historic monuments, gentle landscapes and picturesque villages.
We start with a local departure by First Class coach for our journey to our first overnight stopover in France or Belgium.
On day 2 we continue to Prague for a 2 night dinner, bed and breakfast stay.
On day 3 we take you to central Prague. Here we have included a guided walking tour introducing the stunning architecture of the old town.
On day 4 we depart from Prague and visit Bratislava with its exquisitely renovated centre of Baroque palaces, fountains and romantic streets. Continue to Budapest where we have a 2 night stay booked.
Day 5 – today we have an included guided tour capturing many sights including the Fisherman’s Bastion, the Royal Palace, Parliament Building and St Stephen’s Basilica. We take in the Gellert Hill and then cross the famous Chain Bridge and travel on to the Pest district passing Heroes’’ Square and ending at Buda castle district.
Day 6 – en route to the Vienna Woods / Stockerau area for a 2 night stay we visit Gyor, one of the best preserved examples of Hungarian Renaissance and a Baroque town. Continue to visit the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna with its amazing gardens and park.
Day 7 – we take you to the centre of Vienna where you can take in the fascinating heritage. A sightseeing tour is included taking in the main highlights including the Hofburg Palace, the Parliament building, the Opera House, national theatre and City Hall. We also see the house where Johann Strauss composed the ‘Blue Danube’ waltz, before crossing the Danube to see the United Nations complex, then past the famous Prater Wheel, before returning to the city centre.
On day 8 we depart and travel to Belgium / France for our final overnight stopover.
On day 9 we return home.
