We start with a local departure by coach for our journey south. Accommodation has been reserved at the Medehamstede Hotel - a Victorian building with plenty of character. It is set in attractive gardens. The esplanade town of Shanklin and its famous old beach are within walking distance. There is a bar and all rooms are well appointed.
During your stay we have included these great excursions:
- Leisurely tour taking in Ventnor, the dramatic east coast shore line, Alum Bay and the famous Needles rocks
- A visit to the Island's capital - Newport - and the Victorian seaside resort of Ryde
- Board the Isle of Wight steam railway for a picturesque journey from a bygone era, passing through quaint rural stations, dense woodland and glorious open countryside. This award winning railway recreates the heyday of 19th century steam travel.
