We start with local departure for our journey north. Accommodation has been reserved for 5 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Cumbria Grand Hotel. For details see below.
During your stay we have included these great excursions:
- A journey to Haverthwaite where we join a steam train which takes us to the southern end of Lake Windermere. Here we join a boat for a pleasant cruise that will take us to Bowness and on to Ambleside. This afternoon we have also included a visit to Bowness
- A journey to Lake Coniston - a name made famous by the tragic death of Donald Campbell while attempting the water speed record. From here we continue to Grasmere where we have included a visit to Dove Cottage – the home of William Wordsworth
- A visit to nearby Holker Hall. This stately home belonging to Lord Cavendish of Furness has 25 acres of award winning gardens. Entrance is included to the house and gardens. Afternoon at Grange Over Sands at leisure.
Your Hotel: The Cumbrian Grand - this was built in 1880 and is set in 20 acres of private gardens and woodlands overlooking Morecambe Bay. All rooms have private facilities, colour TV and hospitality tray. Features include a restaurant and bar.
