Your Itinerary:
Day 1 - Depart from your local area and travel to Dover for the short crossing to the Continent. After clearing Customs formalities we continue through to France / Germany for our overnight hotel. Accommodation has been arranged on a bed and Continental breakfast basis in rooms with private facilities.
Day 2 - After an early breakfast we continue our journey to Hungary and Budapest, arriving at the hotel during the evening. Accommodation has been reserved for 5 nights on a bed and breakfast basis at the 3* Superior Budapest Duna.
Day 3 - Today we have included a morning sightseeing tour of Budapest in the company of a local guide. The city is divided into the 2 distinct parts with the modern buildings and busy streets of Pest on one side and the historic quarters of Buda on the other. The 2 sides are linked by 8 bridges spanning the Danube. Your tour will show you the major sights on both sides of the river including Heroes Square, the Fisherman’s Bastion and St Matthias Church. The rest of the day is free to explore at your own pace.
Day 4 - Today we take you to the Danube Bend – one of the most scenic stretches of the river. Explore the historic riverside towns of Esztergom which is one of the oldest towns in Hungary, Visegrad and Szentendre.
Day 5 - Today we take you to one of Europe’s largest inland lakes – Lake Balaton. There will be time to relax and explore before we commence our journey back to Budapest.
Day 6 - At leisure to explore Budapest.
Day 7 - Today we bid a fond farewell and commence our journey home. We make our way to our overnight stopover in France / Germany where accommodation is reserved on a bed and Continental breakfast basis.
Day 8 - Depart after breakfast and travel to the French port for the crossing back to the UK.
